Abstract

Among the Yao people in Yunnan, there come down some stories influenced by the Taoism. According to the myth of the Yao people, the world is governed by gods, who have directly or indirectly taken part in the creation of all the things. The story about Pan Gu is a typical example. The myths of the Yao people in Yunnan are the integration of the mythology based on the primitive religion with the one based on the Taoism.
