The Effect of Tangential Excision of Eschar and Skin Grafting in The Full Thickness Burn

Objective To explore the application of tangential excision of eschar and self-skin grafting in the full thickness burn.Methods Except electric burn and hot extrusion injury,157 patients from 1997 to 2004 year and 40 patients from 1991 to 1996 with full thickness limbs burn in our department were selected as group A and B respectively.Group A underwent tangential excision of eschar and skin grafting,while Group B did eschar excision and skin grafting,the operation opportunity,the survival rate of grafted skin,the time of wound healing,and the profile,the symmetry,the recovery of function of the limbs were observed.Results The profile,the symmetry,the founction of the limbs of Group A were obviously better than that in Group B;the upper limb and lower limb deflate 5.7% and 5.8% of own control of Group A,the difference was not distinguished.However Group B was of contrast,the numbers were 21.6% and 25.1% and the difference was distinguished(P0.05).The differences of the operation opportunity,the survival rate of grafted skin,the time of wound healing of two groups were not noticeable.Conclusion The application of tangential excision of eschar and skin grafting in the full thickness burn can be better service the beautiful outlook and protect the function of limbs.
