Abstract
Through the analysis of the importance of spare parts' inventory control, the spare parts' ABCD inventory control method is proposed based on ABC inventory control theory and 3A inventory control method. The method classifies the spare parts according to their effects on productive condition, rules of fault and wasting, and agility of supply channels. Then the suitable control strategies are adopted for each class of spare parts in order to ensure the enough and timely spare parts' supply, so the occupied fund of inventory is minimized. In the end, the software implementation of the method in an auto body factory's ERP system is presented.
