Abstract
Two-stage matrix converter (TSMC) is a kind of new matrix converter which is composed of rectifier stage and inverter stage. We proposed a simplified pulse width modulation (PWM) method for the rectifier stage. This method can simplify the calculation of duty and can make the rectifier stage to output direct voltage with constant average value in every switching cycle,so it contains the merits of conventional methods. Based on the idea of novel modulation method, the detailed method for regulating the power factor is given and the range of input power factor angle is analyzed. Finally, simulation results are given to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed control method.
