UN peacekeeping operations are the main methods which UN adopts to maintain the world's peace and security. But UN peacekeeping operations were limited during the Cold War. Because the international security situation has changed, UN peacekeeping operations have had great development and have taken on many new characteristics after the Cold War ended.
