Abstract

Ni28Cr11Al0.5Y coating was deposited on Ni-base single crystal superalloy substrate by arc ion plating. The corrosion behaviors of the superalloy with Ni28Cr11Al0.5Y coating and the superalloy in molten 75%Na2SO4+25%K2SO4at 900 ℃ were studied. The results indicate that the superalloy suffered catastrophic hot corrosion, and serious internal oxidation and internal sulfidation appeared;the coating protected the superalloy from hot corrosion destruction and improved the hot corrosion resistance of the superalloy due to the formation of a continuous and dense Al2O3scale.
