Abstract

For studying the reliability and accuracy of different minerals barometer, data of Al-in-hornblende and biotite barometer from five units of Guposhan-Huashan granite in north Guangxi is reported.Calculated formation pressures of Yangmeishan intrusion based on hornblende and biotite are 3.23×108 and 0.90×108 Pa,the corresponding formation depths are 12.8 and 3.58 km.Lisong unit calculated formation pressures based on hornblende and biotite are 3.47×108 and 1.00×108 Pa,the corresponding formation depths are 14.29 and 4.08 km.The calculated formation pressures of Wanggao unit,Xinlu unit and Huamei unit based on biotite are 1.24×108,3.49×108 and 2.20×108 Pa,the corresponding formation depths are 5.13,14.48 and 8.3 km.In the contrast with previous results it is suggested that the hornblende is more suitable for target mineral of Al-barometer than biotite in general.
