Discussion about Time Control Modes of Filter Backwashing in Waterworks

Abstract

Filter backwashing processes play an important role in the operation of water treatment plants.There are many modes to control backwashing processes and the control mode affects filter efficiency directly.Therefore,the time control modes of backwashing were discussed.The results demonstrate that the cost of backwashing water is a fraction,approximate 15%,of the alterable operation cost of water treatment plants.But the quantity of backwashing water is a big proportion,approximate 70%-90%,of the used water in water plant.And the key method to reduce the quantity of water is to save the backwashing water.It is an optimization condition for backwashing to reduce the time of backwashing after filters are cleaned.By means of technique and economy analysis,it is found that timing method is suitable for backwashing control.
