Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of compound Kusheng injection in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) for potentiating the efficacies and antagonizing adverse effects of the combined chemotherapy. Methods:A total of 143 patients with advanced NSCLC were enrolled.Patients were treated with either compound Kusheng injection in combination with GP chemotherapy (gimcitabine and cisplantin,n=72),or with GP chemotherapy alone (n=71).Chemotherapy was performed for 2-4 circles of 3 weeks, and the efficacy was evaluated every 2 weeks. The following indicators were observed:levels of Hb,WBC,PLT and T cell subpopulation in blood; serum IgG level;short-term efficacy, adverse effects and quality of life. Results:The reduction in blood WBC and PLT was smaller in combination group than in with chemotherapy alone group.CD+8 cells markedly declined in combination group, and CD+4/CD+8 showed an elevation trend in chemotherapy alone group.KPS scores and serum IgM and IgG levels were higher in combination group than in chemotherapy alone group (P0.01 and P0.05).Serum IgA levels were not different in the two groups. Conclusion:Compound Kusheng injection combined with chemotherapy can alleviate the symptoms, improve the quality of life, and reduce adverse effects of chemotherapy in patients with advanced NSCL.
