Abstract

Rhetorical authority,ethos and persuasion are closely related.Rhetorical authority is a factor of ethos,and ethos is the carrier of rhetorical authority.Rhetors can successfully achieve the purpose of persuasion by ethos constructed by rhetorical authority.The authors illustrate the relation between rhetorical authority,ethos and persuasion,and the effect of persuasion by an analysis of a piece of motor ad.
