Abstract
Semiotics is a newly emerging boundary science in the area of contemporary social science. It has been tightly bounded to linguistics since it was born. In this way, linguistic semiotics emerged. This paper aims to introduce signs and semiotics, ravel out the relationship between linguistic and semiotics, as well as give a literature review, pointing out the application of linguistic semiotics in serious areas. As a result, readers can get some knowledge about semiotics from both theory and application, as well as find the importance and research value. Thus, future research on semiotics will be promoted.
