Abstract

Using maize Jindan28,Zhengdan958 and Jingke25 as materials, modulated chlorophyll fluorescence induction kinetics was used to investigate the effects of water stress on the phot osynthetic functions of different maize varieties at the jointing stage。Results indicated that fluorescence parameters of the maize at the jointing stage were significantly affected by the different water stresses。Water stress decreased conversation efficiency of primary light energy translation of PSⅡ(Fv /Fm ) ,led to lower open ratio of PSⅡ reaction center, reduced quantum yield of photo-synthetic electron transfer(qP) ,photosynthetic organs tended to be damaged,non-radiant energy enhanced and photo-synthesis was inhibited。
