Abstract

Chinese language is the most important spiritual residence and way of living for oversea Chinese writers. While modernizing Chinese traditional semantic symbols and exploring the ways of Chinese explanation and expression, these oversea Chinese writers also take part in the reconstruction of Chinese national language. The pursuit of the purity of Chinese language in the works of new American-born Chinese writers and the hybridization of Chinese and other languages in the works of the new Chinese immigrant writers,as a mode of return to the nourishment of their mother language, reflect the profound implications of the interaction between the writers' literary creation and their mative language in its transplantation.
