Abstract

A mesophilic UASB(Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Bed)reactor was used for the treatment of wastewater from high-strength refractory preparation of membrane.Under steady condition and influent COD of 10 000 mg·L-1,the volumetric COD loading could reach 9～11 kg COD·m-3·d-1 with HRT of 24 h and COD removal rate over 85%.This process was found appropriate for treating the higher concentration wastewater of membrane preparation under the anaerobic condition.
