Abstract

This study used maize varieties Xianyu 335 and Dafeng 26 as the experiment materials in a three-factor split plot experiment to explore the effect of planting density and line spacing on maize varieties yield and yield compounds. The result showed that the difference of yield and yield compounds including ear number, grain number per spike and 100-grain weight between Xianyu 335 and Dafeng 26 was not so significant.Ear number,100-grain weight and yield were significantly influenced by different planting density.Line spacing had a significant effect on 100-grain weight and yield. There was significant interaction effect on 100-grain weight and yield between planting density and line spacing.Under this study conditions planting density and line spacing were 81 000 plants per hm2 and wide-narrow row(66.6 cm+33.3 cm) planting model respectively, the yield of Xianyu 335 and Dafeng 26 both were the highest.
