Abstract

Objective:To detect the changes of concentrations of leukemia inhibitory factor of ovulatory follicular fluid in IVF females as well as to explore the relationship between LIF and follicular development and ovulation. Methods:Follicular fluid LIF and serum LIF concentrations in 45 IVF females were measured by sandwich enzymelinked immunoadsorbent assay(ELISA).Results:Follicular fluid concentrations of LIF〔(22.77±14.11)ng/L〕 were significantly higher than serum LIF concentrations 〔(3.20±1.25)ng/L〕 ( P0.001). Follicular fluid LIF concentrations of mature oocyte 〔(31.13±15.90)ng/L〕were significantly higher than follicular fluid LIF concentrations of premature oocyte 〔(11.91±9.13)ng/L〕( P0.001) .Conclusion:LIF may be a important cytokine in inducing follicular development and ovulation.
