Abstract

Sand liquefaction caused by natural earthquake is a very important subject in the research area of geotechnical earthquake engineering. At the present time the method recommended in code which is based on practical liquefaction investigation and devoid of theoretical foundation. The numerical simulation model for sand liquefaction is established by using Finn constitutive relation;furthermore, the earthquake liquefaction problem in sand soil foundation is analyzed by finite difference method. The results show Finn constitutive model applied to sand liquefaction analysis can set better regular patterns for pore water pressure and effective stress caused by an earthquake.
