Abstract
AIM To establish the quality control method for menthol and borneol in capsicum rheumatism plaster. METHODS Menthol and borneol contents in capsicum rheumatism plaster were determined by GC. Menthol and borneol was obtained by steam distillation, naphthalene used as the internal standard substance,FID as detector. RESULTS The methodological study showed that a good linear correlation in the range from 1.008 μg to 5.042 μg. The average recovery of menthol and borneol are 95.9%(n=5) and 96.0%(n=6), respectively. A good linear correlation were obtained in the range of 1.008 μg to 5.042 μg. CONCLUSION The method established is simple, accurate with good reproducible and high precision. The method can be used for the quality control of capsicum rheumatism plaster.
