Determination of Methanol in Cosmetics by Headspace Gas Chromatography with Capillary Column

Abstract

A method for determination of methanol in cosmetics by Headspace Gas Chromatography with capillary column was established.The influences of oven temperature,vial equation time,salting-out agent were discussed.Good linear relationship was obtained in the range of9.504—594.0mg/L with correlation coefficient of 0.99998 and recoveries ranged from 90.4% to105.65%,the detection limit(S/N=3) was 49.9Lg/g.The results indicated that this method was suitable for the determination of methanol in cosmetics.
