Abstract

The gas pressure drop of rotating packed bed(RPB) was an important indicator for evaluating RPB's performance.The gas pressure drop of a cross-flow RPB was studied experimentally using a pilot plant with air-water system under the conditions of rotating speed from 0 to 1 300r/min,gas flow rate from 200m3/h to 1 100m3/h and liquid flow rate from 0 to 7m3/h.The results showed that the pressure drop of dry bed increased with the increase of gas flow rate and rotating speed,while that of wet bed was the same except for under large gas and liquid flow rates in which the pressure drop decreased firstly,then increased with the increase of the rotating speed.The pressure drop of wet bed was always greater than that of dry bed except a short time under high rotating speed and low gas flow rate.The flooding didn't occur in the cross-flow RPB.
