Abstract

The design and features of mechanical non sinusoidal oscillation are analyzed, and the application to the billet caster is presented The design of the oscillator has been verified by measuring mold oscillation displacement and analyzing its deviation from theoretical non sinusoidal oscillaiton curve and field operation, which has shown that surface longitudinal crack and depth of oscillation marks are reduced and surface quality of billets is improved
