The Problems of American Special Education Teachers and Implications to China

The quality of special education teachers is one of the most important factors and key component of special children's acquiring effective and appropriate education,so the professional development of special education teachers is always one important issue in special education area.This article collects the studies on American special education teachers in the past decade,and analyzes the causes of shortage of American special education teachers from three dimensions:increase of special children,lack of trained pre-service special education teachers,and special education teachers demission.Based on this,some suggestions are provided to our country in how to train special education teachers.
