Abstract

Twenty sweet corn crosses were studied by randomized block design in this paper. Many traits had been investigated such as,fresh weight, plant height, ear height, ear length, bare top length, ear diameter, kernel row number per ear, kernel number per row, stalk diameter, leaf number, leaf number above ear,ear leaf length and ear leaf width. The grey correlation, correlation and path analysis between main agronomic characters and the effects on sweet corn yield were investigated. The results showed that most of the field agronomic characters had little impact on the fresh weight and that the most significant correlations were detected between ear diameter, fresh weight, kernels per row, rows per ear,ear weight, ear length and ear weight,in which ear diameter, kernels per rows, ear length had great direct impact on ear weight. Therefore,in order to improve the yield of the sweet corn, ear diameter and rows per ear should be considered dominantly.
