Abstract
Objective To monitor the rate of successful vaccination of varicella vaccine. Methods 147 children aged from 2 to 6 year old were chosen randomly, and every child was inoculated a shot of varicella vaccine made in China according to the instructions. I ml of venous blood was collected 4 weeks before and after the immunization and IgG antibody was detected by ELISA. Results Out of the 147 cases 23 were not qualified and 124 were qualified. IgG antibody was detected from 4 cases, accounted for 3.23% before immunization; After the immunizations seropositive IgG antibody was detected from 56 cases, occupied 45.16%.. The positive conversion rate of IgG antibody was 43.33%. There no significant differences were observed among various age groups, the townships and between the males and the females and between two production factorys (P 0.05). Conclusion Serological detection is not recommended after vaccination as there may be false seronegative results in the tests.
