Structure and Diversity of Winter Bird Community in Guizi Mountain area,Hubei Province

Winter bird community in Guizi Mountain area was investigated from November 2005 to March 2006. There were 44 species belonging to 22 families and 10 orders. There were 2 category ⅡNationally Protected species and 16 species with Hubei Provincial protected status. Among them,32 species were residents,11 species were winter birds, 1 species was transient migrant.The resident birds was the dominant species,which reflected the character of winter bird community. The bird community densities were 4.30 ind./hm2.The diversity index of bird community(H′) was 2.6477, and eveness index(E) was 0.6997.The paper analyzes the differences of the bird community among different habitats.The diversity index(H′) in forest habitat was higher than others and the amount of birds was also higher.
