Abstract

The key scientific issues and technology solutions of seismic design of bridges are pointed out based on earthquake damage to bridges in recent great earthquakes in China.The recent research progress of our research team on seismic design of bridges is introduced.The main content in this paper includes:(1) seismic performance and analytical model of main components of bridge structures under complicated loading conditions;(2) seismic analytical theory and design method of irregular bridges;(3) seismic isolation technology of bridges;and(4) seismic retrofit method of bridges using fiber reinforced polymer(FRP).Finally,state-of-art and future of this research field are discussed.
