Abstract

Herpes simplex virus-thymidine kinase gene/ganciclovir system was noticeable in tumor gene therapy. Its bystander effect produces a marked effect in suicide gene therapy on tumor because it can make up the low transfection efficacy of gene carrier. This article reviews the therapy mechanisms and the application tendency of HSV-TK/GCV.
