Abstract

First,a microstrip antenna with broad beamwidth,series feed network and composite right/left-handed transmission line(CRLH-TL)phase shifter with high power capacity is designed respectively,which works at 32 GHz.Then,a novel beam steering method of phased array is presented.The method can decrease the complexity of the phase shifter modules in conformal cylindrical and cone-borne phased arrays,and consequently it simplify the design of conformal phased array.Finally,a 60° fan-shaped conformal cone-borne phased array is designed as an example.Numerical results reveal that the 60° phased array can realize effective beam scanning in the range of 0°≤θ≤90° and-30°≤φ≤30°.
