Abstract
Ca2+,Mg2+ removal from salt type brine by sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate for salt water production by nanofiltration was studied.Effect of operation conditions including addition amount of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, reaction time and aging time on removal efficiency of Ca2+ and Mg2+ under room temperature were investigated.Optimum operation conditions were confirmed as follows:addition amount of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate is 1.0~1.2 times of theoretical value, reaction time is 30 min, aging time is 60 min.Under above conditions, removal rate of Ca2+ and Mg2+ are both more than 95%,and this method can solve effectively the problem of Ca2+ and Mg2+ scaling on membrane surface during the process of nanofiltration.
