Abstract

Throughout the history we can see that Tujia society has experienced a course of social change in language use from monolingual of Tujia to bilingual Tujia-Han (Chinese), and gradually Tujia language is attritted and replaced by Han.The range and Quantum of its use are gradually shrink hence it became an endangered language.The cause for the fact is:modern education,labor force out flowing,market economy as well as the modern media and so on.Abandoning or maintaining Tujia Language are both a kind of acclimazation of Tujia people.
