Abstract
The mixed alcohol is the mixture of methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol, etc.,in which the main components are methanol and ethanol.More attentions have been paid to the mixed alcohol-gasoline blend fuels. This paper presents the emissions of the mixed alcohol-gasoline blend fuels in a spark-ignition engine. The properties of the blend fuels were evaluated. The results show that the mixed alcohol-gasoline fuels possess the same properties as the conventional automotive SI engine fuels, and the blend fuels have the advantage of low THC and CO emissions over the plain gasoline.Averagely,CO is decreased by 51% and THC is decreased by 18%.
