Abstract
Constructing free curve on surface directly is very useful for modeling, and the main solution is to transfer to the common curve interpolation.Based the relation between the surface and its parameter domain,a practical method is introduced. At first a curve interpolating the given data points is constructed on parameter plane, then mapping the planar curve onto NURBS surface. The detail steps are given, and the cases parts of parameter curve out of parameter domain are also discussed. The examples prove the algorithm effective.
