Abstract
Objective To compare the A2 subtype serological and genotyping results so as to study whether there was any difference between them. Methods First, detected A2 or A2B subtype with serological method, then performed genotyping and carried out gene sequencing on the discrepant specimen. Results A2 subtype taken up 0.68% of the A type. With two methods of comparison, 22 cases match the results and one did not. A2B subtype taken up 3.02% of the AB type, compared with two methods, 15 cases match the results while 13 did not. A2 alleles were mainly A205, with A201 comes second, and one A204 propositus was found. Conclusion The group of blood donors of the the Han nationality in China have alleles of A201, A204 and A205; certain discrepancies exist between the serological and genotyping results, to judge A2 subtype, the serological test and genotyping technology must be combined.
