Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of CT-guided percutaneous biopsy of small lung lesions. Materials and Methods Thirty five patients of lung lesions smaller than 3cm in diameter underwent CT-guided percutaneous biopsy using automatic cutting needle. The results of biopsy were compared with surgical pathology and clinical follow up. Results Forty small lesions of 35 patients included 22 cases of lung cancer 6 cases of tuberculosis 7 cases of inflammatory pseudotumor CT-guided biopsy detected 84% of cases with lung cancer correctly. There were no false positive cases. Conclusion CT-guided percutaneous biopsy of small lung lesions has a high accuracy. It is important to make the patients cooperate well and improve the doctor’s operating skill.
