Title: The Cultural Identity of Ku Hungming and His Translation of Confucian Classics: a Postcolonial Perspective

This paper probes into the cultural identity of Ku Hungming and his translation of Confucian classics from the postcolonial perspective. It is found that the cultural identity of a translator depends on a wide range of social and cultural factors and exerts a direct influence on his instance and interpretation of the source culture,his motives and intentions in the choice of texts to be translated as well as the translation strategies adopted.
