Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact of music psychology on the studies of historical musicology, music aesthetics, music sociology, and music education, etc. The author points out several features the study of music psychology possesses. Through the feature of instrumentality , music psychology supports, supplements and refines other areas of study by providing empirical evidences to them. The feature of agency forms a bridge connecting music psychology and other researches of musicology, thus stimulating researchers focusing on the humans per se. Because the main interest of music psychology is on the part of human's behaviors and mental patterns in regard of music, the studies of music psychology eradiate to the related researches. The feature of ' integration' fuses the existing studies and even creates new perspectives on the deeper and wider levels. Finally the paper also points out the possibilities to apply the methodologies of music psychology to other studies.
