Abstract

To explore the clinical significance of detection of expression of PI3K and p53 in prostate cancer(Pca).The expression of PI3K and p53 in 30 patients with Pca and 30 patients with benign prostate hyperplasia was detected with immunohistochemical labeled dextran polymer(LDP) method.The positive expression of PI3K in both groups were not statistically significant(P = 0.237).The intensity of PI3K expression was not correlated with the Gleason score,but significantly correlated with clinical stages(P = 0.002).There was a statistical significance in positive expression of p53 between two groups,and the positive degree of p53 was associated with pathological grade and clinical stage of Pca.PI3K may be used as an indicator of clinical stage of Pca.The combination of PI3K and p53 may serve as an important index to estimate the biological behavior and prognosis of Pca.
