Citizenship and Citizenship Education of Multiculturalism

As a response to the appealing of multi-culture,multiculturalism citizenship is a kind of citizenship with differences which put forward on the basis of criticizing the universality of liberalism citizenship. With differences between ethnic groups as its basic point,multiculturalism citizenship emphasizes the special rights of ethnic groups and identification to their cultures. Though emphasizes on the differences between citizens and multi-cultural citizenship,multiculturalism does not exclude the unity of citizens nor national citizenship. Therefore, citizenship education of multiculturalism should deal with the relationships between equality and difference,ethnic group identification and national identification. Only through this way, we can both maintain the diversity of ethnic groups and realize the unity of national identification as well.
