Abstract

Palynological samples from the drills A19-6,A20-6 and L104 were analyzed from the Echeng Town Coalfield of Liaocheng,Shandong Province. There are abundant sporo-pollen fossils from the Taiyuan Formation to the Upper Shihezi Formation, and 53 genera and 168 species of sporo-pollen fossils have been found. According to the down-core variations of sporo-pollen fossils,4 sporopollen assemblages may be distinguished as follows(in descending order) :IV. Triquitrites microgranifer-Macrotorispora media assemblage;III. Limitisporites rhombicorpus-Patellisporites meishanensis assemblage;II. Gulisporites cochlearius-Sinulatisporites sinensis assemblage and I. Thymospora pseudothiessenii-Laevogatisporites vulgaris assemblage. Compared with those in nearby regions and some other areas of Northern China, the geological ages of the present sporo-pollen assemblages of Liaocheng should be the early Early Permian(assemblageⅠ,mid-upper part of Taiyuan Formation) ,the middle Early Permian(assemblageⅡ,Shanxi Formaiton) ,the late Early Permian(assemblageⅢ,down Shihezi Formation) and the early late Early Permian(assemblage Ⅳ,Upper Shihezi Formation) .
