Abstract
low-molecular weight sodium polyacrylate was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization using K_ 2S_ 2O_ 8-NaHSO_ 3 as redox initiator and NaHSO_ 3 as chain-transfer agent. The optimum experimental conditions were studied. The results show that the low-molecular weight sodium polyacrylate from 2 000 to 4 000 is obtained when reaction temperature is 70 ℃, acrylic acid mass fraction is 20%~30%, the mass ratio of potassium persulphate to sodium bisulfite is 10∶1~14∶1, and reaction time is 5 h.
