Detected Urinary NMP22 Applited for Diagnosis of Blader Cancer

Objective:To study the clinical significance of the NMP22 for diagnosis and surveillance of blader cancer.Methods:NMP22 content in urine was determined by ELISA(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay)in conrtol group comprised 29 patients before the resection of bladder cancer,in group 1 included 15 patients after the resection of bladder cancer,in group 2 included 20 patients with benign urinary tract conditions,and in group 3 included 15 cases normal healthy.Urine cytology were also carried out for control group at the same time.Results:Median NMP22 value for control group was 27.63 u/ml,for group 1 was 7.62 u/ml,for group 2 was 7.35 u/ml,and for group 3 was 2.17 u/ml.NMP22 in control group was higher than the mean value of other three groups with statistical significance(P0.01).When the cut off was set 10 u/ml,the sensitivety of NMP22 was 82.76%with a specificity of 65%.The sensitivety of urine cytology was 34.48%with a specificity of 100%.Median NMP22 value for group 1 was significantly lower than preoperative value(P0.01).Close relationship were be noted between urinary NMP22 values and grade of the bladder cancer,have nothing to do with stage.Conclusion: NMP22 in urine may be as a promising tumor marker for the diagnosis and surveillance of bladder cancer,and it is simple,noninvasive,sensitive and quantitative.
