Abstract
The color reaction of 2-(2-quinolinylazo)-5-dimethylphenol(QADMAP) with cobalt(Ⅱ) was studied. In the presence of CTMAB and in pH 3.5 buffer solution medium,QADMAP could react with cobalt(Ⅱ) to form a stable 2∶1 complex. The molar absorptivity was 1.22×10 5L·mol -1 ·cm -1 at 610 nm.Beer′s law was obeyed in the range of 0~1.0μg/mL.This method could be applied to the determination of cobalt in environmental samples with good results.
