Abstract
Objective to discuss the prognostic value of plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in patients with acute coronary syndrome underwent percutaneous coronary intervention.Methods A total of 230 patients with ACS underwent PCI were included in this study.Plama BNP were measured from symptom onset,total mortality and the risk for major adverse cardiac events(MACE,including death,recurrent MI,recurrent angina,readmission for reason) in the course of admission and at 30 days were analysed.Results With the elevated plsma BNP level,the mortality and MACE increased significantly in all groups.Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the plasma BNP level predicted 30-day mortality(r=0.8621,P0.01)and incidence of MACE(r=0.7241,P0.01)independent of other known prognostic factors,such as age,gender,family history,smoking,dyslipidemia,diabetes,hypertension and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).Conclusion Plasma BNP is good predictor for early mortality and MACE incidence in ACS patients underwent PCI.
