Spatiotemporal Dynamic Analysis of Microclimatic Factors in Different Types of Urban Greening Areas During Hot Weather

Abstract

Greening areas in Nanning were classified into four types in the light of urban landscape heterogeneity,vegetation types as well as shade level of plants.During hot weather from July to September,2002,the microclimatic effects produced by these different types of green areas were studied by field survey and measurement.Results showed that there were great differences of microclimatic effects generated by the green areas of different types in temporal and spatial series.In campus woods,for instance,the air temperatures under the woods presented the micro-spatial orders as the shade the hiatus ≤ the edge ≤the bare ground cover near the woods;while the relative humidity showed the opposite orders;and the variances of microclimatic indices generally passed the significant test of p 0.05,especially in clam and sunny days.The microclimatic comfortable index of the green areas in the campus and the garden residence belonged to comfortable level during measured periods;and in the commercial streets,it generally belonged to comfortable level,but it was up to hot level sometimes;while in the major traffic roads,it belonged to hot and uncomfortable level.Urban plants could improve urban air quality and resident comfort to certain extent.
