Comparative Study on the Offensive and defensive capabilities of Chinese Men's Basketball Team in Beijing Olympic Games and the London Olympic Games

Abstract

Using the methods of mathematical statistics analysis on Chinese men's basketball game in the Beijing and London Olympics,the paper aims to provide a reference for the development of the Chinese men's basketball team.The study showed that: after Yao Ming retired,the Chinese men's basketball team's overall offensive and defensive capabilities significantly decreased;on the offensive side,there is a very significant difference and a significant gap in the fast break and inside scoring concerning the number of three-point shot and free throw percentage;on the defensive side,ability of attack rebounds declines very significantly.Suggestions.
