Abstract

CAI Yuanpei is a great educationist and thinker in modern China.At t he early twentieth century,the vig-orous reform in Peking University launched by CA I was a good reference for the present college reform.The specific his-torical situation is the premise for the reform,and CAI's thoughts of higher education, ideas of running colleges,charm of personality and measures for the reform are t he key,not to exclude the role played by the teachers and students in the reform .
