Abstract

Wang Shizhen, an outstanding historian of the Ming Dynasty, his historical theory exerted a tremendous influence on the development of historiography, represented characteristics of the trends of historical thoughts in the middle Ming Dynasty. His theory of the style of true historical writing; historical collation; advocate ancient historical books; conception of history had times characteristics and progressive meanings, reflected deep connotation of his historical theory and the tendency of development of historical studies in the Ming dynasty.
