Abstract
The paper employs directional distance function and Malmquist-Luenberger productivity index to re-evaluate and decompose China's logistic industry total factor productivity (TFP),incorporating environmental constraints, during the period from 1997 to 2009. Moreover,it also analyses the innovation of shifting the production possibility frontier, and researches on the convergence of logistic industry TFP.The results show that:If undesirable outputs are ignored, the traditional Malmquist index will underestimate the technical efficiency level, whereas overestimated the technological progress index and TFP.Under environmental restrictions, the average annual ML productivity index growth has a decrease, the reason is one hand for the low technical efficiency reduce the growth of TFP,the other hand is the driver of progress in technology is not enough. The innovation provinces leading technological advancement are primarily focus on the eastern and western regions, nevertheless, the technical innovation's level of central region is low.The convergence test shows that logistic industry TFP is significant convergence among the tree regions.
