Abstract
A new kinetic spectrophotometric method for determining the trace Mn(Ⅱ)has been developed. It is based on the catalytic effect of Mn(Ⅱ) on the discoloring oxidation of arsenazo Ⅰ by hydrogen peroxide with the activator of nitrilo triacetic acid. The optimum conditions were investigated in detail. The results show that the system has an absorption peak at 509 nm.The linear range of determination is 0.004 0~0.016 0 mg/L for Mn(Ⅱ).The apparent activation energy of catalytic reaction is determined to be 59.44 kJ/mol and the apparent rate constant is determined to be 1.45×10-3 s-1.The method has been applied to the determination of Mn(Ⅱ) in tea with satisfactory results. The recovery is 99%~105% with RSD 2.1%.
