Abstract
Linkage disequilibrium-based association mapping has been applied to dissect the plant quantitative trait so as to explore the favorable alleles in recent years. Here,we first briefly introduced linkage disequilibrium, the theoretical base of association mapping, and its affecting factors as well as the general strategy of association mapping, compared the difference between association mapping and the traditional linkage-based QTL mapping. The application advancement of association mapping in the rice research of taste and quality, morphological characteristics and agronomic traits, abiotic and biotic stress tolerance was reviewed, the prospect of the association mapping in rice genetic research was also proposed here.
